Burnham is situated on the north bank of the River Crouch on a peninsula of land to the southeast of Chelmsford, the county town of Essex. The town receives many visitors throughout the summer months, many of them yachtsmen taking advantage of the sailing clubs, enjoying the cruising and racing that is an essential element of the community.
In the summer months, the quayside hums with activity as visitors stroll along the waterside and enjoy views of the river, soaking up the atmosphere or visiting the town’s many pubs, cafés and restaurants.

How to get here
Yachtsmen will already be very familiar about how to reach Burnham by water!
However, it is also easily reached by road and train; the Crouch Valley line is operated by One Railway/ National Express.

Buses services, 31X from Chelmsford via Maldon and D6 from South Woodham Ferrers operate regularly.

Free parking is readily available. Alternatively at weekends you could take the short ferry ride from Essex Marina at Wallasea, on the South side of the River Crouch.
