A week of workshops
We wanted to give everyone in the Dengie area - and beyond - the opportunity to join in and un-lock their artistic talents, so we have arranged a full programme of demonstrations and workshops to get all those creative juices flowing! For full information click link below...

Open studios
Artist Jim Bradshaw and printmaker Akiko Fujikawa will again be opening their studios and for the first time Steven Harkin will be welcoming you into his workshop at 35 Essex Road for one day on Saturday 26th June from 10.00am-5pm.
There you can smell the leather and see first hand how he designs and crafts his wonderfully individual handbags and other leather goods. You may even be tempted to open up your purse and treat yourself to the season’s
latest look! |

Essex Summer of Art – Art Relay
Part of the Essex Summer of Art, the Burnham Art Trail is one of a series of trails and open studios taking place in the county throughout the summer. This year to link the art trails there will be an “Art Relay” in which a large roll of paper will be passed from

trail to trail. A team of artists from each trail will create a piece of artwork on a metre-long section of it before handing it on to the next art trail. Jenny Hill, Sandy Sykes and Kitty Guthrie will be Burnham’s chosen team and will be working on our section throughout the art trail week at the Burnham museum. |

Pop in and see their work before it gets rolled up and passed onto the next trail in Braintree.The final artwork will be unrolled in October at the last Essex Summer of Art trail in Rochford and will become part of the cultural Olympiad.

Art quiz
To test the artistic knowledge of younger participants there will be our regular quiz with a prize to help them to get started on a creative path. Art quiz forms are |
available at the Burnham museum or the tourist information centre. If you are a teacher or a local

Afternoon tea in the garden
This year view the sculptural work of Mike Barter and Peter Freshwater’s glass designs whilst enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake which will be sold to help raise funds for a new boathouse for the Burnham RNLI. |

The Garden at 4 Fernlea Close is open between 10am-5pm

Drill Hall Site Mosaics |
| The memorial gardens for the Drill Hall site were designed by St Peters High School students 5 years ago, as part of a community project. The mosaics will be made by present students at the school in a series of workshops led by Glynnis Dye |

| in the autumn. The gardens have been designed to represent the historic industries and environment of the town, with the mosaics representing the flora and fauna found in the River Crouch. They depict oysters, sea anemone, shore crab and Sea Bass and will be sited within the paving. The designs can be viewed at the museum during the Art Trail. |

| St Mary's Church Open Gardens
Saturday 27th June, 2pm-6pm. There will be 6 gardens to visit with refreshments being served at 2 of these. Programmes are available from St Mary's Church, One Place - Tourist Information & participating gardens - Admission £3.50 |

The Burnham Art Trail is a free day out but we do encourage donations to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Collection boxes can be found at most venues.
